Adnan Sami Khan (Urdu:
عدنان سمیع خان) (born August 15, 1973) is a
popular Urdu singer, musician, pianist, actor and composer.
His style ranges from
classical to jazz
to modern
pop-rock
(Western and Indian). He was awarded MTV's 2001 "Breakthrough Artist of the
Year".

Biography
Adnan was born, reared and educated in Britain. He
first studied at the Rugby
School and went on to graduate from the
University of London. When Adnan was 10, his talent was spotted by Asha
Bhosle at an R D
Burman concert in London.
Bhosle encouraged him to take up music as a career. He then learned
Indian Classical music from the Santoor
Maestro,
Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. Adnan then became the first person to play Indian
classical music on the piano and
electric piano.
Albums
His vocal albums have consistently sold well, each album crossing the
million mark in sales. Upon the release of his album "Kabhi
To Nazar Milao", it became the largest selling independent album of all
time in India. It remained number one on the music charts for an unprecedented
78 weeks. Adnan followed that album with Tera Chehra, which sold
millions all over the world.
Awards and accolades
Adnan has won many International Awards including the "Nigar Award", the "Bolan
Academy Award", and the "Graduate Award".
Reviewing a Piano solo performance Adnan had given on the Channel 4 in the
UK,
Keyboard Magazine declared him the "Keyboard Discovery of The 90s".
Swedish Radio and Television Broadcasting referred to him as the "fastest
keyboard player in the world."
